High Sheriff of Derbyshire opens Aquabox’s new assembly room.

In one for her last appointments as High Sheriff of Derbyshire, Theresa Peltier opened our new assembly room on 26th March. Theresa’s term as High Sheriff, ended later that week when Mr Ian Morgan was appointed as the new High Sheriff of Derbyshire.

Following a 12-month project, which we called Aquaboost, our assembly room underwent a transformation. Dominic Wish, an Aquabox Trustee, is in charge of the project and used a five-Sigma lean manufacturing programme to allow us to double our production of life saving water filters to 6,000 units a year.

Theresa said, “I visited Aquabox back in November 2023 and this transformation five months later has blown me away. Seeing the volunteers working in the new environment and embracing these changes is so inspiring.”

Dominic said, “Even after the first two weeks we are already seeing production of our life saving water filters increase. Our daily teams of volunteers have completely embraced the new assembly processes. Aquaboost has been supported by a number of local and global companies, with both equipment and time by experts, to help us bring this project to completion and we cannot thank them enough for their support”.
