Landslides destroy houses in Dhulikhel, Nepal

Last week highways and local roads were swept away, and 15 houses were destroyed, by landslides at Dhulikhel Municipality in Nepal. People stranded during the landslides were helped across dangerous fast flowing flood waters by security personnel.

The supply of basic needs is very limited but as Aquabox hold stock on the ground in Nepal, the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel were able to arrange for rapid despatch of 10 Aqua-Aid boxes to the most affected area. This was done by helicopter as road access was blocked by multiple landslides.

Thanks to superintendent of police Basundhara Khadka for her leadership and tireless effort during this disaster. Basundhara was part of the Rotary Group Study Exchange Program.

Thanks to Rotary Club of Dhulikhel and Rotary Club of Kathmandu Circle.

Special thanks to Aquabox , Nugal Vaidya , Ashok Shrestha & Ranjeev Shrestha
