World Water Day event at the Chesterfield Canal Trust – March 22nd 2026

Help us celebrate World Water Day, held on 22 March. We have teamed up with Rotary District 1220 and Chesterfield Canal Trust for a fun day of events and live demonstrations of our life saving water filters.

A full day of events, starting at 10am until 3pm is planned. The Canal Trust will be offering rides on their narrowboat Madeline. Half the funds raised on the day will be donated to Aquabox. As well as the ever-popular hook-a-duck, young people will be able to take part in the Aquabox Challenge fun-based water games.

World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. Over 400,000 children under five die each year from diarrhoeal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. Aquabox’s water filters provide clean, safe water for drinking, cooking and washing. Following Man-made or natural disasters, clean water is one the first priorities.

Local Rotary clubs will be highlighting the work they do to help provide safe water and showing some of their projects.

Easy to get to, Hollingwood Hub is next to Hollingwood Lock, 4 miles along the canal from the centre of Chesterfield. It is on Works Road between Hollingwood and Barrow Hill.

There are brown tourist signs. By car – SatNav S43 2PF.
