The generosity of people is amazing. This ‘free’ concert raised over £2,000 for Aquabox. UkeWirks asked for donations on the door and everyone gave.
What a night Saturday March the 7th turned out to be, the full house enjoyed a set list of traditional songs to covers of hits by the likes of Jarvis Cocker – yes Roger, the hat worked!
A big thank you to Wirksworth’s own UkeWirks band for the eclectic mix of music performed with such brilliance and to all those who listened and danced the night away and gave so generously.
The money raised is enough to pay for 4 community filters and 30 family filters, helping 2,300 people in need of clean water used for drinking, washing and cooking.
