It’s that fantastic time again in Wirksworth where we celebrate the tradition of decorating wells and springs with floral displays, a custom that dates back to the 18th century. This event is part of the Wirksworth Carnival, which takes place this spring bank holiday weekend 23rd to 25th May. The sun is due to shine all weekend
Aquabox have long been associated with this local tradition as we have a synergy with water. All this week we will be busy painting the well dressing frame, applying the clay, transferring the design using all sorts of natural materials from seeds, leaves, wool, moss, dyed coconut, rice, pulses read to bring the design to life.

The photos show last year’s Aquabox Well Dressing, what will this year’s design be?
So why not visit Wirksworth over the back holiday to find out… and donate to Aquabox please.
