41 Aqua-aid boxes despatched in 36 hours…
Disaster Aid Nepal, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Circle and Community Development Center Nepal, has successfully shipped 41 Aqua-Aid boxes to the Jajarkot and Bajura Districts to support families displaced by the devastating August 2026 Flash Floods.
Having strategic stock on the ground in areas where disasters happen on a regular basis is important and vital in situations where the event is so devasting. In these two areas alone, the disaster has forced many families from their homes and leaving them in urgent need of safe drinking water and essential supplies. These Aqua-Aid boxes will provide clean water and help protect vulnerable communities from waterborne diseases during this difficult time.

Next steps
At the moment search and rescue are still the priority of the Nepalese government. Expert teams from around the world are helping with this.
We are in talks with a number of our delivery partners. FireAid and Airlink are looking the most likely partner for our first shipment. We are also talking to The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and we have stock of our water filters at a UN hub in Dubai.
Our first consignment of 7 pallets (1260) of family filters, and 1 pallet (15) of community filters is currently being prepared ready for shipment, to be collected as soon as we have the green light. Each Family filter will provide clean water for an extended family of 10, and our community filter being ideal for a field hospital, school or community hub, each one providing water for 500. This is a total of over 20,000 people displaced in Nepal having access to clean water.
As clean drinking water will become a focus in the following days and weeks, we will continue to work with our partners to despatch our first shipment from Derbyshire as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we have launched a £40,000 appeal and our volunteers will be busy making more filters. We now require your donations to help us buy more stock of the component parts to make more filters.
