Our 25th Shipment to Ukraine

The Ukraine war is the largest conflict in Europe since World War II, and has resulted in a refugee crisis and hundreds of thousands of deaths. Aquabox responded within four weeks of the start. Since then, we have sent 5496 family filters and 196 Community filters, providing clean, safe water for 229,904 people.

Devastation in Ukraine with damaged infrastructure to water and other services.

That doesn’t include our latest shipment sent on 12th October consisting of 342 more family water filters.

Collecting the shipment at our depot was John Kirwin, seen on the left in the first picture. Helping with the collection were Aquabox’s Jane and Benedikt.

John Kirwin works alongside John Midgeley and this is just one of many trips they have made. The two Johns leave the UK on Friday, driving across Europe and crossing into Ukraine late on Sunday heading for Lviv where the aid will be handed over to the Rotary WASH Hub for distribution across Ukraine.

We were also delighted to be invited to Derby Ukrainian Club last month where Roger and Rob gave a talk on Aquabox and how our 160+ volunteers work hard in our continued support of the Ukrainian people.
