Now a firm favourite in Wirksworth’s annual calendar Wirksworth Wizarding Day, held on 8th October this year, was again a great success.
We had a stand in the market area and invited children to try using magic to change the dirty water into clean water.

Joy Watson, one of our new volunteers, was there with me and later Roger Cassidy, our chairman (‘Dino’), took a turn. Most of the children had wands they had made or bought, but we also had an Aquabox one to lend out. We demonstrated the filter, displayed a Gold box with its content of aid items, chatted to lots of people and gave out leaflets.
Our collection bucket magically filled with donations, and we are grateful to all the Wizards, young and old taking part. A big thank you to Bill Bevan for organizing such a great event that attracts 1,000’s of Harry Potter fans to the town.
