Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica late on Tuesday 28 October. Since then, we have been working with our partners to send out shipments of our water filters.
With wind speeds of up to 185 miles per hour, Hurricane Melissa has had a catastrophic impact on Jamaica, leaving many without access to clean water.

Our partner, Brad Moore CEO of Operation Orphan, picked up 120 family filters on the 3rd November. In consultation with the Social Services Ministry in Jamaica, the prime focus for this shipment will be on supporting displaced children and families with water filters and blankets. A team from Operation Orphan along with the AQUABOX filters will fly to Jamaica to begin the relief work.
A second shipment of 48 family filters and aid boxes is being collected next week by David O’Sullivan from Ziotis International Limited. Ziotis are a UK-based company located in Enderby, Leicester and distribute UK goods to the Caribbean and Bermuda. Ziotis donated funds to Aquabox to pay for the water filters and they will be added to their next shipment, leaving on 16th November, which will have a variety of aid as part of their generous support for the people of Jamaica.
