Aquabox water filters bound for the Bahamas

14th September 2019

We now have the go-ahead to despatch a consignment of Community and Family Filters to support communities in the Bahamas following the devastating Hurricane Dorian which struck the islands earlier this month.

aqua12 boxesIn total 30 Aqua12 boxes and 10 Community Filters will leave our depot on Tuesday 17th September and should be in Miami the following day for routing onwards to Grand Bahama. The Aquabox team of volunteers are working over the weekend to finalise the shipment.

Each Aqua12 box contains 12 Family Filters, so we are sending filters to provide clean drinking water for 360 family groups, or roughly 1800 individuals. The Community Filters which are intented for use in community centres will give clean drinking water for 3000-4000 people.

The total cost for this shipment is approximately £13,000 (including freight).

Thank you to all our supporters who have helped make this aid possible.
