We’re Hiring

Aquabox is seeking to recruit a Deputy Depot Manager to support its ongoing operations at its headquarters in Wirksworth.

Aquabox operates as a community project supported by over 80 volunteers..   Its primary objective is to save lives following natural and man-made disasters by supplying water purification equipment and other aid worldwide to people in dire need.

The new Deputy Dept Manager’s Role

Aquabox’s operations, supported by its volunteers, are centred upon its Wirksworth depot every weekday morning.  These activities are overseen and administered on a daily basis by a Depot Manager, the only paid employee currently.

We have recently expanded our operations and are now seeking to employ a Deputy Depot Manager to support, assist and deputise for the Depot Manager.

  • Operations, including:
  • Inventory management and stock control.
  • Monitoring and supporting filter production and packing.
  • Monitoring and maintaining Health and Safety standards within the depot.
  • Supporting the logistics and shipping processes, procedures and documentation.

It is anticipated that the incumbent will be able to undertake/assist with all the above task areas after a year in post and be confident to deputise for the Depot Manager, as required.

Hours and Salary

Reporting to the Depot Manager, the Deputy Dept Manager will be based at the Aquabox depot for 20 hours, 5 mornings per week.  The actual hours worked daily will be flexible and subject to agreement with the Depot Manager.

The anticipated salary will be in the region of £23k pa pro rata.

Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of and competence in using standard computer support systems, including Microsoft Office and email management.
  • Knowledge and use of the SAGE accounting SALESFORCE systems would be an advantage.
  • Confidence, energy and enthusiasm.  Demonstrable ability to work effectively as an Aquabox team member.
