50-year old steam railway journey to help Aquabox

Two brothers achieved a bucket list wish come true when they traveled from Middleton Top to Parsley Hay to mark the 50th anniversary of the last steam train to do this journey. Their father, Sam Buckley, was the driver of this last train in April 1967 and was described as “a railwayman of rare quality”. Middleton Top to Parsley Hay is now part of the High Peak Trail. In 1967 it was a section of the Cromford and High Peak Railway manned by Middleton trainmen.

Wirksworth Rotary Well Dressing

The theme chosen for this year’s Well Dressing by the Rotary Club of Wirksworth was to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Aquabox. The Well Dressing was one of about 12 around the town as part of the celebrations of the Wirksworth Carnival over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Aquabox Celebrates 25 Years!

13th June 2017

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of Aquabox and to celebrate the occasion more than 50 Aquabox volunteers, Rotarians and their partners and guests attended an evening dinner at Shottle Hall (where Aquabox first started all those years ago) on Tuesday 13th June 2017.

Music In The Gardens

We were absolutely thrilled that Aquabox was chosen as one of four local charities to be represented at this year’s Music In The Gardens, held in Sheffield Botanical Gardens from Thursday 29th June to Sunday 2nd July 2017.

Music, food and dancing!

28th January 2017

More than 60 people enjoyed a fabulous evening at Alderwasley Village Hall with traditional Scottish food, music, toasts and dancing. Ceilidh band “Speed the Plough” once again entertained us superbly. Haggis, neeps, tatties and puds were served and much appreciated by everyone.
